Press Release for Vital Proteins New Collagen Based Skincare Product
Devising a brand extension and writing a corresponding press release
For my Marketing, PR & Branding course, I was asked to come up with a brand extension product, and write a press release for the launch. One of the industries I am interested in is that of clean beauty and wellness. Thus, I chose to work with the brand Vital Proteins, which specializes in collagen based powders and supplements. I thought they might be successful in extending their product offerings into the realm of skincare. Their intention would be to deliver the same results as the Vital Proteins powders in the form of a topical treatment, and the first product would be a collagen face mask.

BREAKTHROUGH IN SKINCARE
Vital Proteins Announces the Launch of Our First Topical Treatment in the Form of a Collagen Face Mask
Chicago, Illinois – Vital Proteins is excited to announce the launch of a collagen face mask. Like our other products on the market, we offer the mask in two different varieties, one made with grass fed beef collagen and the other made with marine collagen sourced from wild caught, non-gmo whitefish. The main ingredient collagen, aka the powerhouse of all proteins, works to keep our skin cells healthy by increasing the moisture level in our bodies and improving the function of cell turnover. Our product is set to launch on April 1st, 2020.
Our intention is to deliver the same results as our Vital Proteins powders in the form of a topical treatment. Our signature blend of collagen peptides and hyaluronic acid helps to create a youthful and glowing appearance, and improve your skin's elasticity, which will result in the smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles. Lemon peel and antioxidant rich açai powder help to brighten your skin's complexion and reduce the effect of free radicals and oxidation on the skin. Unlike many other products on the market, our mask is made from simple ingredients; with no harsh fragrances or parabens. Both the Vital Proteins founder and entire team believe that “there is nothing more important than one’s health.” Our skin is often an indicator of both good internal and external health, which is why it's important to treat it with the “highest quality” products.
The Vital Proteins team will host a party in mid March, inviting members of our VP family, influencers, and friends to celebrate the launch of the collagen beauty mask. On the guest list are celebrities who love our products, such as Kourtney Kardashian, Jennifer Anniston and Ashley Graham. Also in attendance will be the Instagram health and wellness influencers, Shutthekaleup and Rachel’s Good Eats. The party will take place in LA at the new West Hollywood Edition hotel, where guests will have the opportunity to socialize while sipping on our signature collagen drinks, and enjoy complimentary facial treatments. Each guest will get to leave with a sample of our mask to try before the official launch in April.
Vital Proteins was founded in Chicago in 2012, by Kurt Seidensticker. In just a few years, the company has grown exponentially, and went from being completely e-commerce based to being featured on the shelves of huge retailers like Target and Whole Foods. As a company, we take pride in all of our products, which are made with real, whole ingredients. The Vital Proteins customer knows that they can trust us, because they are able to understand the purpose of our products and see fast results.
